Draciel Shield 7-60D Hasbro G2218
The Draciel Shield is more than a collector's piece: a Defense Bey on one of the most successful ratchets in tournaments. Only the Dot bit is worth swapping.

Description
As a Defense Bey, the Draciel Shield relies on standing its ground. Picture the 7-60 ratchet as a round wall: seven long, rectangular protrusions surround the Bey like a rampart. For a 60 ratchet, it is also fairly heavy. Below it sits the Dot bit, essentially a Ball bit covered in small nubs: they create friction against the stadium floor, so the Bey stays in place and moves less when it is hit. Unlike the protruding spikes of the original from the plastic generation, the contact points of the Draciel Shield blade are recessed, so hits tend to land on the silver metal part.
On the Hasbro packaging, the 7-60 ratchet has a defense value of 14, a high value for a Defense Bey: it helps the combination stay standing instead of being knocked out of the stadium. At 37.1 g, the Bey is on the light side for a Defense Bey: more weight would bring more momentum and keep the spin going longer, while a light Bey is quicker and more agile in return.
By tournament points, the 7-60 ratchet ranks 4th of 36 ratchets, the Draciel Shield blade 86th of 110 blades and the Dot bit 36th of 49 bits (as of 1 September 2026). BeybladeGeeks and ilinnuc consistently praise the 7-60 ratchet as a strong tournament part; BeybladeGeeks see it in many competitive combos. According to BeybladeGeeks, the 7-60 ratchet absorbs hits well and holds up fairly well even against attackers coming from below; because it sticks out at the bottom, however, it can scrape against the stadium. BeybladeGeeks see the Draciel Shield itself as an exception among the crossover Beys, which are otherwise more for collectors: in their view, it looks like it can really get something done in the stadium. In BeybladeGeeks' test battles, the Draciel Shield held up surprisingly well for a re-release and even survived a Dran Buster. BeybladeGeeks consider the Dot bit pretty decent at preventing knockouts, but see better bits for that job. For ilinnuc, Hexa is a clearly better defense bit than the Dot; if you have a Hexa bit, try it here.
The Bey was released on 28 December 2024 in Japan by Takara Tomy, as a booster there. Hasbro releases it as the Draciel Shield 7-60D Starter Pack. It belongs to the BX series, the Basic Line of Beyblade X.
