Saber Samurai 2-70L Hasbro G1862
An Attack bey with two sword wings that fold outward as it spins, and a Level bit that keeps turning up in top combos. Plus Hasbro's best ripcord launcher, which will help all your launches.
Description
The Saber Samurai blade is one of the first blades in Beyblade X with a real moving part. Picture it as two large main blades, plus two samurai sword wings that centrifugal force pushes outward as soon as the bey spins fast enough. Unfolded, it hits in quick succession; folded, the two main blades carry the attack alone and go for a single, full strike. BeybladeGeeks take a sober view of Saber Samurai's gimmick: the small wings contribute very little and the two large blades still land the hits – in return, the wings don't fold out far, and the bey stays fairly stable.
The Level bit has three contact surfaces: a narrow centre that keeps the bey almost in place, a wider ring that moves more aggressively, and a serrated outer edge on which it is fastest. So a battle can start calmly and get more and more aggressive towards the end. With a stamina value of 15, the Level bit sits above what bits of Attack beys usually bring; a higher value means a calmer, low-friction movement that spins longer. The blade has an attack value of 65, a typical value for an Attack bey; the higher it is, the harder the hits land.
By tournament points, the Level bit ranks 6th of 49 bits and the Saber Samurai blade 25th of 110 blades (as of 1 September 2026). According to ilinnuc, the Level bit keeps turning up in top meta combos because it combines solid stamina with aggression. BeybladeGeeks rate the Saber Samurai blade's attack mostly positively: very aggressive right from the start, with a clean hit. The 2-70 ratchet (34th of 36 ratchets), on the other hand, is worth swapping. For BeybladeGeeks, the 2-70 ratchet is too risky because its slope drops off too far, hits the stadium floor and scrapes. ilinnuc also doesn't consider the stock combo, Saber Samurai 2-70L, the strongest: the ratchet holds it back, and almost any other ratchet in its place gets considerably more out of it.
In the Beyblade X anime, Saber Samurai is Tenka Shiroboshi's bey. In episode 56, it hits Miss Miodin's bey repeatedly as if with four short swords and then wins by knockout. In episode 59, in the hands of Blader S, Saber Samurai waits until both opponents have run out of stamina and then strikes with a single Xtreme Dash.
The bey was released in Japan on 2 November 2024 as SamuraiSaber 2-70L by Takara Tomy. Hasbro has been selling it in Europe since June 2025 in the Victory Grip Launcher Set.
Besides the bey, the box contains the Victory Grip Launcher, a ripcord launcher with a fixed built-in grip, and four grips. For BeybladeGeeks, Saber Samurai is a clear buy, especially for Hasbro fans who want this launcher. ilinnuc now rates Saber Samurai lower than a year earlier, partly because the Victory Grip Launcher is not ilinnuc's preferred launcher type. The bey belongs to the UX series, the Unique Line of Beyblade X.
